The Eyes Have It
Eyes. One of the first things we look at when we meet someone for the first time. Do they look kind, sexy, serious, funny?
Throughout time, great leaders, soldiers, teachers and many others have used them to instill trust or look for it.
Without the use of speech we look into a newborn’s eyes and immediately make contact and show love. Not even knowing how much that child’s eyes can see at that moment.
Ok, so what makes a person fall in love or dislike a character in a animated or computerized movie. It’s not only the well thought out voice, but the eyes. Wouldn’t we fear Smaug from the Lord of the Rings less if his eyes were light shades of blue or rose and turned up, rather than the colors of fire and pulled up at the arc of the eye?
An artist could draw duplicate dragons, and with the changing of a few lines that make up the eye, completely change the way we would feel when we look at each one.
The big open eyes of Nemo. The large almond eyes of Jasmine. And let’s face it, who would have fallen in love with E.T., the wrinkled grayish alien, if it weren’t for those eyes.?!
The eyes have been used to make us feel certain things or imagine them when used in movies, books, poetry and songs.
Let me start you out with a song lyric, since I know you’re already trying to think of one.
“She's ferocious and she knows just what it
Takes to make a pro blush
All the boys think she's a spy, she's got Bette Davis eyes”
Now, let’s SEE, Pun intended, what you come up with. I’ll post more as time moves on.
Thanx for reading and visiting.
